Bar end weights

My 1999 Trophy 1200 came with non-working heated foam grips which I removed first thing.

I noticed it has a thread for bar end weights. The Triumph original ones are $80 CDN each! Anyone know if these make much of a difference or if there is an aftermarket alternative.

Based on my 300 or so miles I don't feel the vibration is going to be a huge problem, gets a little buzzy at 120kmh but it's not a real high-fequency buzz.

Instead of messing around with expensive bar ends, have you thought about going to the throttle meister?  I just opted for that solution instead of trying to figure out what works or doesn't work...
