I disagree.  I like the fact that a guy can get the tag, then you know he's off to get the new one.  It encourages tags that are widespread instead of "Ooo- I want the tag so I'll tag the train in Cadillac then the park in Cadillac".  I like the fact that a guy can tag something, then you know while we wait he's riding out to get the new one.  Also, it discourages people from building up a picture file of future tags.  I like the fact that they are done in the same ride.

I have take the new tag picture on the way to the tag I am fetching though.  I'd just hate to see people taking tag pictures throughout the summer, and posting them without actually currently riding there.  To me that's part of the fun- knowing another rider has been here days (or moments) before.  Even double and triples tags are fun that way.

If the hang time becomes an issue we could start another MI phototag thread, so there are two games going at the same time...

Morning Clay

Great post. I was wondering when you were going to address this  Bigsmile. I think that is a lot of the fun as well...having someone off and running to place the new tag.

Looks like a great day out there today!

Just my .02 worth;  Why not put a mileage limit 'tween the tags???  ie; No less than 50 miles, no more than 100????  That would eliminate or lessen the advantage for those of you who are retired or self-employed over us who want to play along but are at a disadvantage due to the work/family thing.....

My .015%.
I respectfully disagree with mileage limits. I have ridden over 200 miles for a tag and have taken circuitous lines back to home. If I wanted to tag something out of the way but still in Region 4, I would not be able too.   Headscratch

My other .005%
Is that we have a really good system now.  Thumbsup We have ridden to tags, taken the shot, only to find that we missed the post.  Crazy
My reason for doing this is not to be shown as the rider who got there first. Don't get me wrong, I like being first and snagging the tag.

However - My reason is the ride. When you young guns grow up, you will understand.

Perhaps a second thread for runners up might work.
Ride out, tag it, if you are first - post it.
If not, go to the runner up thread, post the tag and rag on the Dirt Bag that got there first.  Twofinger

Pretty sure I seen Krellian this morning. I seen a black and red ZX14 and the Yellow Ninja going north on US23 just south of 96 at about 9:40. I was heading south, to the N. Territorial to meet up with some friends.

That's an easy Googlevestigation. First line of the first page.

My two cents on the tag frequency.

Waaaahhhhhh. I had to wait for the tag to come up. Waaaaaahhhhh.

Who cares about having to wait an hour or two for a tag. Anticipation my friend. Anticipation.  Inlove

It's all about exploring and getting to see some of the landmarks that michigan has to offer. I found one this weekend, but I didn't stash the tag in my camera for a rainy day.

Get the tag, ride to the new one. I'll wait.

+1000.  Especially this part.  I've been to some cool spots I wouldn't normally go to for a tag.  Whether I get it or not, I love the ride!

OK Bigok
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr150/cardomart/NewEra.jpg

This was the easy part. Wibrornz and I passed it on the way back from Manistee. Just down Gd River between Portland and Eagle.
On the way home I went to take the next tag. My phone on the other hand doesn't take pix in the dusk. Gotta get  a camera! Crazy

I will shoot out early to get a next tag. I know what I want and it is not too far.

I agree with pops. Its about the ride. No need for a bunch of "rules". Keep it simple and fun. Its not a competition. No prizes or trophies handed out here. Get out, ride, tag, and hope you post it first.  Rolleyes No need for mileage. Now if I can just find as much time to ride as Pops66 maybe I could get some tags that require a whole day of riding!

Time yea that right.  Pops66 waited until I threw the steak on the grill then called knowing that I was leaving work and didn't have time to sneak in a tag.

You got to watch him....He will ride just to ride.
