My three most local dealers are all Platinum, so I'm quite happy with that: Capitol Area Triumph, Hermy's, and Martin's.   Thumbsup

Triumph Announces Its Triumph Premier Group Dealerships For 2009

Dec 17, 2008, ©Copyright 2008, Roadracing World Publishing, Inc.

From a press release issued by Triumph (America):

ATLANTA - Triumph Motorcycles has announced the 2009 class of Triumph Premier Group (TPG) dealerships. The annual program recognizes authorized Triumph motorcycle dealers who demonstrate exemplary customer service, outstanding sales & marketing plus an over the top commitment to the Triumph brand. For 2009, more than 60 dealerships across North America have earned this elite status.

The prestigious TPG designation was developed to acknowledge Triumph dealers who surpass key performance goals and create an outstanding customer experience that exemplifies Triumph's sense of relaxed refinement. The program has three designations: Platinum, Gold and Silver. In order to qualify for TPG status, dealers must meet or exceed operational standards in the previous twelve-month period, including: : exceeding sales goals, excelling in customer and sales service, and buying into the corporate image with Triumph designed retail store fixtures. Membership is evaluated on an annual basis.

"Whether you are a dealership's owner or manager, an employee of a dealer or a customer, being part of the Triumph family is something special," said Mike Cunningham, Vice President of Dealer Development for Triumph Motorcycles (America) Ltd. "The Triumph Premier Group was designed to show our support for our dealers who embody the Triumph spirit, and reward them with additional tools that further facilitate the best possible sales and service experience for new and existing customers."

TPG membership has its privileges. From priority scheduling of the Factory Demo Truck and additional advertising and marketing support to advanced showings of new products and models, TPG dealers have ready access to programs that increase their success.

(Emphasis mine)

I wonder how each aspect was weighed. I don't care about the corporate image krep, I want people who know their business and care enough to do it well.

I didn't think there were that many in the entire USofA.

My dealer is Gold - what do you have to do to make silver - kick the customer square in the nads? Rolleyes

160 Total dealers, I believe.  I'm not sure how many are on that list, but it doesn't look like quite 160?

Mine's not on there, I wonder what they did wrong?  Lol

I've had nothing but good experiences there, from the purchase to routine service to troubleshooting. They've been great.

Wow, quite a few in PA. When I was in the market for a new scoot last Fall I happened in on one of those dealers listed as Platinum. The sales guy was such as asshat that I left and swore I would never own a Triumph. So I am not sure what the overall criteria is for making the Platinum level but as it relates to the overall "sales" experience I have to surmise that the bar ain't set too high.

My guess is there's significant weight to the Triumph branding within the store.  4 of the dealers i have done business with are on the list.  3 of the 4 I would rate higher and the 4th wouldn't be on my list.

Who's to know?  (the shadow)

My main dealer is Platinum - Southern California Triumph, Brea, CA
My secondary is Silver - South Bay Triumph, Lomita, CA

Though, I get most of my parts from Platinum - Hermy's Triumph, Port Clinton, PA
and Gold - Ma's Cycles, West Fargo, ND.

Avoiding taxes you know.

Mine (SHoreline in Kenosha) is Silver -- I find this hopeful, as, with Stromgal, I care not a whit about corporate displays and geegaws, and Shoreline is a good representative of a Mom n Pop dealership -- not trying to be a "destination" at all (as opposed to the corporately mandated HD image), but good service, in my experience, painless sales (2 bikes in our motorpool came from there), and generally nice folks.

If I get into grad school at WWU I'll be close to the Bellingham dealer.  I like upswept "off-road" exhausts, pictures of Steve McQueen, separate transmission cases, Whitworth wrenches, Lucas electrics and pools of oil on concrete floors.  But I can't buy into a corporate image.

Yeah CAT!!! I love that dealer!!!! Good people.

Now how in the hell did Frederick Yamaha make silver? Been there twice while looking for Triumphs (they missed out on sales twice). They acted like they didn't want to be bothered.

Joe at Trebour has to be one of the best Service managers I meet in a long time.
The parts guy and sales force need alittle help(just a little too laid back for my taste)
Maybe they just sell more Ducs and Suz?

Too small to make the list, but one of the best dealers of any marque I've seen is Branchville Motors in Ridgefield, Connecticut.

Cascade Moto Classics is silver and they are fantastic!  They breathed life back into my Guzzi as they do both Triumph and Guzzi.
