Next up.  Speed Triple.  Gotta a sweet deal on a left over '05.  Pick it up tomorrow  Banana  Pictures tomorrow but it looks just like every other stock blue trip out there: http://www.sportrider.com/bikes/2005/2005-tri-s3-07-1.jpg

A little bittersweet cause I had to pass on a XB12Ss but this is all about THE motor.   Inlove that motor!

First off, congrats!!!

Second, you won't miss out on the XB too much because w/ the Speed Triple, you'll have an engine that doesn't seem to drop off just as it gets going.

Finally, don't forget... you now must wave using 3 fingers when passing another triple motor (screw trikes, I'm changing the rule).

Yeah - I got in about an hour before the sale prices went down.  A similar list for me -

Flyscreen
Rear nut cover
Rear hugger
A couple of Triumph t-shirts and a mug

The whole lot was nearly the price of the flyscreen at MSRP.  Thanks again for the heads up.  Thumbsup

Thanks.  Missed out on the sale.  This place is gonna prove to be dangerous.  The farkling won't commence till the first anniversary has passed.  I don't have a good recent track record for hanging onto bikes.  This one has the makings of a keeper though.

Soon as I fired the bike up I knew I'd make the right choice.  Break in really sucks but I know what's coming.

Three fingered salute?  I like it.

Ergo perfection.  Just the right balance between sit up and beg and bend over and howl.  Of course pointing the front end north relieves what little pressure there is on the wrists  Bigsmile  Not that I would know anything about that though...

I broke my Sprint motor in using this method:

http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

It beats babying the motor for the first 1000 km, took just half an hour after picking up the bike, and was a hoot rolling on and off the throttle and listening to the burbling overrun.  I haven't had it on a dyno, but I have no complaints about the power or smoothness after 5500 km.  On a ride this fall, I passed an identical Sprint 1050 going up a hill and I know the other rider had it pinned.  Anecdotal evidence to be sure, but I'll never follow the manufacturer's break-in recommendations again.  Plus Triumph spins the motor on a dyno before it leaves the factory and I'm sure they're not gentle with it.

NICE!

Funny, I passed on a XB12s because the VTwins just never did it for me, but I never did really get to flog a Buell.  I also got a leftover Triple.. Mines an 06 in Black!

GRATZ!!
