Did an overnite at Big Bend national park in Texas.  http://www.nps.gov/bibe/

Yeah, I'm in Jersey but I was visiting a friend.  She wanted to show me the sights.  I can't think of a better way.

So we headed out from around Fort Davis and primarily stuck to dirt roads like this:

After about 100 miles we entered the park proper

First stop, the abandoned mercury mines

The ride up to the mines I managed to throw my steeds chain.  That's a bit scarey when you are out in the middle of NOWHERE.  Plus, she kept saying she was gonna make me ride bitch.   Sad

We were tired so we made camp.  Luxury accomodations, and we didn't have to share with anyone crossing the border.

In the morning we scouted out another spot indian/native type folks use(d)

Twas during the Easter break and we found the bunny

Mosied on south to the RIO GRANDE.......not nearly as grand as I would have imagined and now I understand how easy it is to just wade across

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww216/chimera_STN/Big%20Bend/IMAG0234.jpg

Then it was time to hit some more rugged off road at Black Gap trail

After about the fourth crash it was time for a break.

All together over 300 miles (dirt miles should count double), couple days, and we made it back out of what appears to be a blasted wasteland alive.  I'd like to say a special thanks to a good friend and a big ole DR.
