Vascar is an electronic stopwatch, you imput the distance btw two points (usually white stripes on the road) and click on one, then two, and voila, it computes speed.

I'm really surprised he actually wrote you, but hey, its not the end of the world. Try to go to court and get him to do "failure to obey posted signs" which is zero points, just a fine, and no insurance bump.41 in a 25 is not "really" speeding, and even the DJ's know this-21 over in a 45 is usually a different deal.

FWIW, the "protocol" really does help. Pull over asap, keep your hand visible at all times, remove helmet, but don't touch anything else, and tell the officer EVERYTHING  that you're about to do-ie-"officer, I need to get my registration-it's in my jacket(or under my seat), so I'm going to unzip my jacket, ok?" It seems silly to you, but it conveys that you understand his aprehension, and he'll likely have a different frame of mind.

Hi MGO,

Nah, I was on vacation with the family, with an SUV and my Great Dane hanging out the back hatch. It's also two weeks old, so it wouldn't be valid anyway. Thanks, be safe,

Hi scraper. Did you get the photo so we can officially call you bruced?

Pretty soon were going to have to call this the Official Connie Tag Game  EEK!. I'm going to have to recruit non C14 taggers    j/k!

It's football season!  Shannon Sharpe is now retired and if the Irish don't win Charlie Weiss may join him.  To find the next tag think about those two words and not just the Irish.  English, Welsh, and German folk also came here looking for work.

Ah it was a lovely afternoon to ride to the Eckley Miner's Village in Eckley PA or maybe it was Weatherly PA but some great roads on the way up through Jim Thorpe.

BTW looks like the FJRs might be giving the Connies a run for their money.  Lol

Yeah, same bike, same angle almost. I was expecting someone to say that I just reposted Molferen's tag and claimed it. There are some subtle differences though if you look closely. Tank bra, green windshield, different seat.

That was a great tag Molferen. Talk about being isolated. Plus there's a road (Buck Hill Road) coming up out of Weatherly that has some 5 & 10 MPH posted turns and goes up a very steep hill. I also saw at least a dozen wild turkeys that tried to commit suicide by running out in front of me.

When I was a young boy growing up on Schooley's Mountain in NJ I could look almost directly west and in the distance over the horizon it looked like clouds were being made. It was only when I got older that I learned the clouds were coming from these two bad-boys over in PA some 20 miles away.

Now don't go afoul and start a rift if you can't find them. Just look over the border.

Even smaller than you think Googus. You and I have met. I was the other guy with DaveK from the Blackbird Forum when we met and had lunch in Narrowsburg NY earlier this year and then rode back down through Hawk's Nest.  Wink

Funny you should ask. I wasn't sure how close I would be able to get so I started further away and worked myself closer. I guess since it's not a nuclear PP that security is pretty lax. I was waiting for some men in black to come question me but it never happened so I guess the answer is no, unless of course you want to do something illegal and test their response time.  Lol

Oh now just chill...had I seen any warnings about taking photos, any physical security presence at all or anything that stopped me from getting close I would have heeded the warnings and chosen a different tag. Clearly you can see from the pix that there doesn't seem to be any great concern for security. I spent at least a half hour around that place and sometimes within clear view of their security cameras. Even stopped and had a smoke and made a call on my cell phone. A couple people entering the plant waved to me but that was the only interaction I had.  Razz

Hey, I rode past there just last weekend!  When I get back to the tagging, I'm gonna bring my netbook along to upload the pic.  There's been a lot of Bruce-in' goin' on 'round here.
