Most Miles ridden in one day

I'm thinking about doing a 700 mile day...so this is why I ask. Respond with actual milage, type of bike, biggest challenge! (eg staying awake, taking a leak, eating etc) particularly if you are over 1001 miles in one day

Please convert to Miles if your rate is in Kilometers. 1.6 km per mile.

Biggest challenge was dehydration, it was 95 degrees out.

600+ on a speed triple... To be honest it wasn't bad...  A few gas stops and a lunch break made for a good day, it didn't hurt that I was looking forward to the PCH from San Louis Obispo to north of Monterey for the GP ...

3-400 mile Interstate days kill me with boredom... I just did a total of 3,800 in 10 days on an ST1300 and the hardest part was staying involved in the ride on the I's through the mid west...  Great to cover ground, but not my preferred method of travel...

750 miles twice. My VFR both times, first time the worst thing was the monkey butt. I didn't have the seat sorted out, and got it MB pretty bad. I hobbled every time I got off the bike.

Two times I have done about 680 miles.  Both on a 2006 Triumph Sprint.  The worst part was my butt started hurting after about 10 hours.  If you stand up on the pegs every thirty minutes or so for about 30 seconds it makes it a lot better.

Other than the butt pain I really didn't want to stop when I got home.

My usual days on a trip (solo) are around 550. I find that to be a comfortable/relaxed pace. The most I have ridden was 701. Leavenworth Kansas to Rapid City, SD. It wasn't really all that challenging (other than the boredom of the interstate). Make gas stops quick and it goes pretty fast.

  When I was a young'n I could do some serious long slab runs but the last 10 years or so I can hardly handle it. I don't know if it's my ADD or I'm just getting old but if I slab more than 300 miles I feckin' nearly fall asleep. I lose concentration and interest.

p.s. I HATE the slab! But it serves it's purpose...... I guess

800+ on a 2005 FZ1. Could have gone more if I needed to. Other than my knees cramping from time to time, it wasn't bad at all.

i can't compete but i did 450 on the VFR a long time ago. had no issues since i was with my Uncle and he stopped a lot for whatever reason... pics, piss, food, BS. i had a blast. we left at 6am and got back at 5pm. i would LOVE to do a real NO-SHIT all day ride but i'll have to wait til after the kids are gone. ....oh... 18.5 yrs to go.

Don't remember the exact mileage but I know it was over 1k... Ormond Beach to Milwaukee, post Bike-Week, trying to beat a storm moving in from the west.

This has been my experience as well. I have planned many an IBA ride only to notice I'm passing all the good riding in an effort to make more miles in less time. In the end I ride half as far on twice as fun of roads

A couple of memorable rides on a 1999 VFR:

1) About 1100 miles in up to 104 degree temps and a nice crosswind coming across Kansas.  Hydration was fine but the speeds had to be kept within reason to keep from trashing the rear tire.  Everything else was fine.  Ride started and ended in the early morning.

2) About 1200 miles with the last couple hundred being two lane road in the early morning (deer alert) with temps in the upper 30s.  Late night also included having to stop at a bunch of toll booths.  All that sucks when it's cold and you're starting to get tired.  And more so when your 'sleepy cycle' of the day is at the end of the ride.

Quite a few 400 to 600 mile days in the twisties.

900+ in a 26 hour period .. 78 Honda CX500, no fairing in December enroute to San Antonio
from Charleston, SC. So cold that, when registering at a motel, I couldn't write my name in
the book and could scarcely speak coherently.

When in the room, I filled a bathtub with lukewarm water (which felt hot to me) and got into
it and warmed it up in stages. Once nice and warm, I lay back in the tub and promptly fell
asleep .. only to wake three hours later in a tub of icy cold water. I was shivering so badly I
had sloshed water out of the tub.

Once again added hot water to reheat the tub up .. hands shaking so badly I could barely
operate the tap. Man, that hot water felt good as it began to warm up the tub.

Finally hit the sack at 6 a.m. and slept soundly. Never been so cold in my life as when I got
off that bike at the motel and walked inside. Arrived the next day in time for Christmas with
the family. I'd never, ever do that again for any reason at all.
