Pepsi Throw Back

Guys, I love the stuff!
It's great! It's how Pepsi should taste!
Sooth rich and perfect!
But I'm afraid big Corn will squish this little piece of heaven.
so we need to band together to save this!
If you haven't tried or don't know what it is, it's Pepsi made with real cane sugar instead of that HF crap!
It tastes great!
So hit your local grocery store and pick up at least 5 cases and if they don't have it raise hell!
Save this amazing soda before it's summer and.....well nothing goes good with a bacon cheese burger like a really good soda!
(sorry - I had to edit the title. I could NOT stand to read "Pepesi" for the next couple of weeks
) -

Easy there...Pepsi states it has real sugar but doesn't say that it's cane sugar. It's most likely sugar from sugar beets since that's much cheaper. You probably missed the boat if you haven't loaded up yet. I think they stopped making / distributing it on the 19th.
That being said my wife tracked down some for me for Valentine's day. I'm about to crack open a bottle while I tear into my valve train.

Coca cola bottled in Mexico uses sugar as well. Look for it at hispanic grocery stores.
I try to avoid HFCS and it's really hard. That stuff is in everything.

HFCS = high fructose corn syrup
" Overweight study participants showed more evidence of insulin resistance and other risk factors for heart disease and diabetes when 25% of their calories came from fructose-sweetened beverages compared to glucose-sweetened beverages.
Both groups gained weight during the 10-week study, but the fructose group gained more of the dangerous belly fat that has been linked to a higher risk for heart attack and stroke."
http://www.webmd.com/heart/metabolic-syndrome/news/20090421/fresh-take-on-fructose-vs-glucose
HFCS has been linked to all sorts of bad things, but the corn producers just keep on trying to sweep it under the rug and claim it's no worse than other forms of sugar, despite the evidence.

High Fructose Corn Syrup ( hfcs ) is one the the common sweetners used in manufacted food items.
It replaced much of the sugar used when "sugar" became a dirty word. Add up all the the sweeteners ( corn syrup. HFCS, sugar, sucrose, etc. ) to get an item's total sugar content. It's no wonder many people need to go on a low-carb diet!

Yup, and 12 oz old fashioned glass bottles. It's the Coca~Cola I remember from childhood.

Two years ago I had the great pleasure of being stuck next to a very attractive chemical engineer with a personality.
And when the drink cart came she asked to look at a can of something......so i had to ask what she was looking for.
And she sad HFC, and then went on to educate me as to where it comes from, how it's produced and how it "sits" in your body and how so many are allergic and don't even know.
So I tried my best to avoid the stuff. I lost 10lbs off my fat ass and 4in off my gut and it did wonders for my regularity.
Turns out I was allergic to the stuff. It irritated my intestines and i was bloated and not digesting food properly.
Best thing I have ever done.
I hope they don't kill off this great product!
Only catch...if you open up a can it will have gone bad in about 5 minutes due to oxidation of the natural sugar.
So......how can we fight to keep it on the shelves?

You can get Hanson's soda w/Cane Sugar as well.
...but I don't think they make a cola, Just Root Beer and friut favored.
Anyone in Los Angeles needs to check out Galco's Market:
Sodas (and beer) from all over the US and beyond.

I've been loving the Pepsi Throwback - I'll miss it when it goes away.
On the other hand, Mr. Pibb is coming back!
Of course, neither is in line with my trying to lose weight

I saw a fat guy with a giant Pepsi logo tattooed on his calf yesterday. I couldn't decide if that was better than a Zune tattoo or not. At least they can easily be identified as douchebags.

I've totally eliminated sodas from my diet.
Unless/until I can get Moxie in my area.

I dig the Mexican Coke. It always reminds me of my trips to South America. It's easy to find here in Wichita, Kansas - the local indie donut shop has a big wash tub full of it, and the sketchy local grovery store keeps it on the shelf too. I can get it in Tucson AZ when I visit there, too.

HFCS is worse than Hitler.
Pepsi sucks, has always sucked, and will always suck.
I love how sugar is now the healthy alternative.

Here in Texas you can also find Dr. Pepper with real Imperial cane sugar in it. You can sometimes find it at the supermarket. Many times though, you have to travel to Waco or Dublin Texas (Waco has the Dr. Pepper museum, Dublin is the plant where they make the stuff) to buy it.
I prefer the imperial sugar stuff to the corn syrup stuff.
