Quote
A motorcyclist lay injured after a crash for an undetermined amount of time before he was found Sunday morning and taken to a hospital, where he later died, the Washington State Patrol reported.

State troopers responded to the scene, off Highway 99 at the Michigan Street ramp, at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday after a Transportation Department crew reported finding an abandoned motorcycle lying on its side along the roadway.

Troopers searched the area and found the injured motorcyclist lying on the ground about 30 feet down an embankment. Investigators said it appeared he landed there after being ejected over the side of the ramp.

It was not clear how long he had been lying there, during some of the coldest weather so far this winter.

The motorcyclist was alive when troopers first found him, but he later died. His name was not released pending notification of his next of kin.

Horrible news. Just horrible.

It's a sobering note to always tell someone where you are riding.

I think of SPOT for when I'm out in the middle of nowhere. Where this guy went off I don't think I ever would have considered using SPOT here...

+1

That used to be on my regular commute. Sunday afternoon/evening was not a good time to be on 2 wheels.
