I never saw them talk to a newbie that harsh.

They may point out other threads about it and they are heavy handed about closing threads when they feel it's been talked out but they arn't that bad.

If their moderators spent 1/10 of the time seeking female companionship as they do closing threads the place would be a lot more relaxed.

I agree they spend too much time worrying about threads and close them even though there's no name calling or getting out of hand.

It seems they aren't interested in female companionship...

OP here....it seems this thread has diverged from the beginning.

Trying to get back on topic: I narrowed my search down to FJR, R1200RT and Trophy.  Wife ruled out FJR due to comfort.  We sat on BMW and Triumph, she preferred the Triumph, and I wanted the bigger motor of the Triumph along with longer service intervals.  We bought the bike Saturday at 4 PM, 28 hours later, I'm ready for 500 mile service :-)

It has soooo much power, I finally turned it off sport mode after getting the front off the ground three times with both of us on it.  The brakes feel ginormous.  All the goodies make it very comfortable.

It will need an aftermarket seat, and I need to figure out GPS integration.

Overall, very happy.

Congrats on the new ride! Hope you have many happy miles and we need some pics. Although I haven't checked the Triumph section.

FJRForum

Newbie: What are the best options for aftermarket seats on my 2008 FJR?

Moderator: We have thoroughly covered this topic here in 2005 and you are an idiot for not searching our entire post database before asking your stupid question.

LOL - was just on the forum and saw a recent similar style post.  If only they would spend as much time on improving forum response time as being cranky it might actually get better.

I posted some pictures over in the Triumph sub-forum: https://www.sport-touring.net/forums/index.php/topic,79412.0.html#.UicpoNImeCI

It has been a fantastic bike.  I've put 1700 miles on it in the first month, and it just gets better and better.
