A couple of years ago a friend had organized a ride up to Manchester and it was such a great ride, I decided to recreate it with about 30 of my closest personal friends! Coffee first and then a quick jaunt for the second meet at the Golden Gate Bridge...

Lots of hugs as friends reunited once again...

The Spyder is a favorite with the kids and Clyffrd had many smiling youngsters on his back... Big Red Dog indeed!

We had originally planned to ride around to the Marin Headlands but the tunnel coming back was closed so we rode up part way and then back down... the fog was not cooperating so views of the GGB and SF were not to be found this day...

Sunny in Marin...

Next stop was for lunch in Marin...

Lots to choose from...

The pond is always traquil and relaxing to sit and have a picnic lunch...

The road ahead...

We broke up into several pace-related groups and headed out for the Marin backroads... view on Wilson Hill Rd...

Alien sighting... hmmmmmmm

Chileno Valley Rd...

Joy Rd...

To Coleman Valley Rd... I half expected to see hobbits run from the foliage...

Image brought to you by peaceful and serene...

Normally this is a stunning view looking toward the ocean... again, Mr. Fog wasn't having any of it...

Out on Hwy 1 near Jenner...

Moody ocean...

Outside Point Arena...

I was the last to arrive at the KOA and was happy to see all the bikes parked outside their homes for the evening...

Susan recently had knee surgery so I gave her a lift back to our kabin which was in the back of the complex...

Fun with wooden cut outs...

This is probably one of the nicest KOAs I've ever been at... clean, friendly folks, great amenities, and an arranged catered dinner for the evening... Scott was grooving over the food and kept the rest of us entertained...

Leslie finally got a weekend off from kids and work to join in the fun...

Put my camera down... or else! lol

Dusk at the ocean...

Time for stories and chit chat around the bonfire...

Scott contemplates...

We all headed for our abodes for some shut-eye... and I got mooned!

It had been quite cold out by the coast on Saturday but Sunday dawned bright and sunny with the promise of a warmer day...

The first gem of the day - Mountain View Rd... I sent the group on ahead so I wouldn't hold anyone up for my photo quest... and they're off!

Morning sun streamed through the trees...

View at the peak...

Hi Eric!

Jeffrey and Natalie...

We had been seeing some sort of liquid in the road for a bit which turned out to be oil leaking from a truck that traveled in front of us... it was slipperier than snot and one bike experienced a slow motion low side... rider was fine and bike a little banged up but rideable... a bit further down the road, we lucked out and came upon the leaking truck which was now completely broken down... rider was able to get insurance info to make a claim... watch out for this stuff on those back roads...

We met up with the rest of the group in Boonville where they were getting sammiches and such for lunch a little later on... I got to see the Apple Show...

Some folks had to jet for home leaving my group with five bikes so we headed out 128... it was really starting to warm up now...

Stopped at the Lake Sonoma Recreation Area for lunch in the shade... we had the place pretty much to ourselves...

Scott trying on a new look... but we decided he looked too wooden...

Time was slipping by quickly and we all had things to do, places to go, and people to see so we abandoned our original route out Skaggs Spring Rd. and headed out on Dry Creek Rd. to 128 through the wine country...

Did I mention it had warmed up considerably??

I've seen some big bugs on my windscreen before but this one took the cake...

I was getting parched and stopped for some water...

The fence had a bunch of skulls hanging on it...

I felt like I was back in the days of the old west...

And this tune sprung into my head...

We headed to 121 and then down Wooden Valley Rd. for our final stop in Rockville for gas and more hydration... the store here had a refrigerated room with all the cold drinks... we lingered there for awhile before lounging outside in the shade...

Scott lingered a little bit differently...

This is the time when necessity rears its ugly head and I wish I had a travel machine to beam me back home but technology hasn't gotten quite that far yet so slabbing home it would be... fantastic time with some great people... thanks to everyone who came out and made it a special trip and creating new memories! Smile
