I will see what I can contribute. Heading out in the early afternoon and having a very leisurely ride down Roosevelt Lake on 25 to Springdale-Hunters Rd to Loon Lake.

I have an appoint in Spokane tomorrow, then off to meet Dr. Zorko in Winthrop to start our trip to Weaverville.

The Guzzi waits patiently even tolerating our cat Mickey testing out the sheepskin

Miracle cargo shorts...

I loved these shorts, and apparently they loved me back, because they pulled off an amazing feat on my first day out. It all started when I stopped at an overlook of 33 to eat my sausage mcmuffin I picked up at the MickyD's somewheres slightly before Ojai. http://www.flickr.com/photos/96875072@N07/8962520504/

Upon leaving, I seem to have been derelict in my duties to 'properly' latch the top-box. It was a short time later after clearing the top of the pass, and blazing at high speeds down-hill toward the mini-redrock canyon section that my top-box became un-latched.

It was while flying through a downhill right high-speed sweeper perhaps slightly north of the ton when it happened. I felt my rear tire 'hop over' something  and step out a bit for an instant. Just enough to register a 'WTF?' in the moto-control-center of the brain . I was sure the road was clear ahead as I went through, so the sensation was very perplexing. I was quick enough to get a glance in the rear-view mirror before it was completely out of sight. Didn't know what it was, but there was something definitely in the middle of the road where I had just passed.

Upon turning around to investigate, it was my poor cargo shorts that were previously freshly washed, laying in the middle of the road all dirty and mangled (there're tears in the ass that I couldn't bear to photograph ).

So apparently these cargo shorts (may they R.I.P.), leaped out of my top-box as soon as it became un-latched, and some-how miraculously moved forward from there to get under my tire to warn me I was about to loose all my shit that I had in my top-box. If not for this selfless act, from my be-loved cargo shorts, I'm 100% sure the entire contents of the box would be strewn over 30-40 miles of highway 33 before I even noticed. I need to donate these shorts to a museum, so then they could be featured on that cool show 'Mysteries at the Museum' ...  lol

Otherwise, that's some hella vacuum vortex created by the topbox and side-bags when flirting with the ton... lol

Pretty close to it.    This heat is not kidding around.

But I made my required pilgrimage to the "next 140 miles" sign, rode some fine roads, laughed a lot at dinner, and am about to join the bench racing. It makes for a great day even if I do have to burn my t-shirt.
