Man, all I have to say is  Twofinger to you guys taking 4- or 5-day weekends for this! We leave tomorrow morning at 8am sharp.

Gotta do some bike maintenance this evening (change the oil/filter...clean and adjust chain, make sure I still have a reasonable amount of front brake pad wear left). Can't wait to ride 2-up with the new, stiffer rear spring!  Bigok

We're probably going to head north past Clearfield, take 144 all the way to Rt.6, then head east on Rt.6. It'll be a long day of riding...but hopefully a good one. Probably won't arrive in Hancock 'til 7-8pm (so don't count on us for dinner...unless we put the hammer down to get there by 6).

PS to Scott - Will be at the Wawa tomorrow at 9 - not leaving now.

Maybe I should...

Thanks! Yep, looks like we'll take the same route from 144 on. I'm curious about your Saturday route, so maybe we can compare notes on that tomorrow night.  Thumbsup

Slight possibility that I'll be a drive-by participant.  Family obligations in eastern MA will keep me here through mid-afternoon on Saturday.

Is there still riding planned for Sunday AM?   Or are most planning this as getaway day / return to the real world?

TIA!

I just installed an MRA Vario x-creen onto my double bubble.  Cleaned the new-to-me Corbin.  Cleaned my helmet.  Gassed up and checked the tires and chain.

Are we there yet??

Got all my routes loaded.  After a couple hours in the office Friday morning and a tire change right after that I'll be ready to leave.  It helps that I'm only three hours from Hancock.

I also wanted to share with you' all that the routes I posted up on page 4 of this thread are pretty darn rocking.  I've been a neighbor of the Catskills since 1995 and have been riding her ever since.  There are other good roads too but if one was to string together their favorites then these are mine.  Definitely worth riding and definitely a great mix of technical, twisties, and sweepers.

My Saturday ride is a trip up Route 8 into the Adirondacks to where it intersects with Route 10.  Then ride Route 10 back to Hancock.  I think it's mostly countryside and sweepers but with a radar detector sweepers can turn into twisties.

See you all Friday night wherever the beer is.  Smile

I recall there being a grocery store in the middle of town (walking distance) with a decent beer selection.

The grocery store is about half a mile away. They have a small selection but there are a few worthy brews. I just picked up a Saranac sampler.

+1

I'll be following your route Saturday - in the rain if current reports hold true - with one little side excursion to the EYE; down CR16 from Hunter area towards West Saugerties.  Not much of a road, kinds reminds one of WV 80 without the sharp corners, but it's something of a curiosity.  Hope there's a six of Saranac left.   Beerchug

Got called for jury duty tomorrow.  No worry; I won't get selected.  I plan on telling the judge that if the ["f'ing"] cops arrested him, he must have done something wrong.  Maybe not what he got arrested for, but that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to be punished for something; if not just for making me be there...

I tell them I'm for capital punishment. Works every time.
