I really really really want to go. All I'll need is some time off from the brand new job I don't quite have yet, and a rideable bike.

Shouldn't be a problem.... Lol

Got the job. Bike is running (though still waiting to be re-assembled pending paintwork). Could I actually pull this off?

Not likely. "Hey boss. I know I just started a couple of weeks ago. Can I have Friday and Monday off to go ride with my crazy motorcycle friends?"  Lol

info.

As of Aug 3 health officials are addressing an issue with the city water supply (affected 9 people) and
the motel has brought in bottled H2O for brushing teeth / restaurants are using paper plates.

Since it's still 6 wks out I bet they'll have it solved in time, but I'll check on it weekly and post up.
There are other towns nearby still in good riding region so people can be assured meet is a go, still.

(This info is from calling the motel Aug 3).

Thanks a bunch!!!  Bigok

Man I want to go so badly. But I'll only be 6 weeks into my job by then. And since I'm a contingent worker (read: temp), It's probably a really bad idea to ask for days off so soon, especially if I want to get hired on permanently.

We'll see what happens. But it won't be for lack of a completed bike if I can help it!! In the meantime, paint and bodywork is progressing nicely.  Bigsmile

Well, I'm out. Just spent 5 hours on the road today, and I still can't handle it. No way I can get myself all the way to Baker City.  Sad

Try it on the motorbike next time.  It's a whole lot easier if you don't have to pedal.

Stef, it's still 4 weeks out.... a lot can change between now and then. Plus, it's only a 6 hour drive and you won't have the stress of traffic putting added pressure on your noggin. Don't give up yet!  Razz

Thanks, guys. I really wanted to make this one, but it's better if I skip it. I'm trying to conserve brainpower for work.  Smile
