I thought my power wheelie in third somewhere near or over triple digits was pretty impressive.  Well, for me anyways.  I'm old and slow.

When I first got the FZ-1 it took a while to learn to keep the front down.  
I only wheelie on dirt, and not often.

I did manage to loft the front wheel on the Wee once - only once & never again - it wasn't a true wheelie, just a fast launch.  Most unfortunately, it was right of an unmarked car traveling in the opposite direction.  As I told the officer when he pulled me over, "This is a Wee-Strom.  You know why they call it a Wee, don't you.  It might be hard to convince a judge that you saw me pull a wheelie on a 650 twin."  I swear this is a true story, And he let me go.  No ticket, no warning, just a lecture about the inherent wisdom in showing some respect for traffic safety laws.

All that being said...

Properly done Wheelies are an exemplary expression of a mans connection with and control of the motorcycle.

The 9 power wheelies on it's own quite easily although I don't care for it unless I'm exiting a corner, then it's fun. Full throttle in first would loop it but rolling it on will lift it and carry the front tire through 2nd and well into 3rd.

The V65 will lift it easily but I don't, too hard to control something that big and it can't be replaced.

I only wheelie when Ed is around or not round or every time I pull out the drive way, or out of corners or when the wife is on the back or on days ending in y.  Hell I hate riding a bike that will not do a wheelie.

1st gear is impossible to keep the front down @ anything past 1/2 throttle on the Superhawk, even if I lay up on the tank. 2nd is almost as spirited, which makes for long, frequent power wheelies.   Ya only live once right!!

My z1 loves them, drift the back tire leaving my street 10' later she's airborne.then I have a lot of hills you can wheelie over too. Not a fan of letting cars see me though I wait for them too pass before I do, unless I'm going over a hill then it's kinda late to worry besides I'm doing 90 plus anyway.

Very rarely by choice.  My Futura wheelied often at unexpected moments.  I miss that ride.

True. But it's more than capable.

I pull a small power wheelie now and then but never get to the balance point.  And yes I have landed on my butt a couple of times pulling bigger wheelies on dirt bikes.

Lots of power wheelies and lofting front wheel over a rise etc but I've never learned to clutch up a wheelie

I think wheelies are irresponsible and dangerous.

That said......

My bike makes wheelies way too tempting. They are never huge stand ups and I don't ride them for miles but it is so fun to rip the front wheel up a bit under hard acceleration out of a corner.

Having ridden a Speed Triple for 4 years and now a Tuono, well, let's just say it's just part of the experience if ya ride even a wee bit aggresive........ like it or not. ( kinda liked it , though)

However, I ain't never been a particularly good at whoolies ...... even as a kid on my beloved gold Schwinn Stingray
