So I went to something last year in WV. What was it?  Is the spring a regular event?  Does the location change?  I assume its Region 6 - Northeast only.

I would like to suggest PA for 2014.

There was a Spring Meet last May at the Boyer Station Motel near Greenback, WV.  This past May we went to Canaan Valley resort. MrsCableBandit organized both of them.

I think we complicate it too much. I would say keep it at one location during a certain time of the year, ie, 3rd week in "X" month. Yes, it may get old but I think attendance would increase if people can plan ahead.

I don't mind the changing venue, much like the ESTN. I just confuse which thing is which group cuz the name changes or several groups use the same name.

I just know this group and the core of ESTN are the type of folks I like to ride with.

That is what I was referring to; ESTN.  With the Spring Meet, it was scheduled by whoever stepped up and organized it (two  Thumbsup to Mrs. Cablebandit for doing it the last 2 years).

If we decide on a more permanent location for ESTN, it wouldn't be as difficult to set up and more would be able to plan for it.

Just my thoughts....

I'm looking at Somerset, PA as an option for Spring 2014. That'd give folks lots of options - southwest/southcentral PA, western MD, and northern WV.

I found out from my contact at Canaan Valley that the buildings where we stayed this year will be demolished once the new buildings open this fall. That jacks our nightly rate from $59/night to $99/night. I didn't see that flying with this group.

I'd really like to keep the nightly rate around $75/night (and as far below as possible) while ensuring clean, comfortable, basic accommodations.

What's tricky is trying to find combination lodging/camping options.  Crazy

How many ended up camping at Canaan Valley?  I know my original plans were to do it, but it worked out I roomed with Stripes.  Priced right, we share rooms and stay warm.

Sounds great!  I love WV but it about the max miles for a weekend.

So where does one look for planning threads?  Region six or Rallies?

P. S. I was always a camp out guy but post 50 really like motel rallies.

The Spring Meet thread would be discussed in Region 6 and would be motel-based perhaps with an option to camp (depending on location).
