The 31st of July was my last day of being a wage slave and I headed off into the sunset at the ripe old age of 53 yrs and 8 mts. So to spoil myself and mark the occasion, I bought myself a nice new KTM 1190 Adventure. I've just finished running it in, which was no hardship, and to say the least, I'm over the moon with her. I did a wee 330 mile trip on Tuesday around some of Scotlands fine roads and it performed better than hoped for. So she's heading to the dealers within the next couple of days for the first service/oil change and then I can start to really open her up. WooHoo !!  Bigok

the above opinion is simply that of an average middle aged hick with one too many brain injuries... or, don't take it too serious.

And today, the postman delivered my new Wings exhaust pipe all the way from Slovenia. There's not a big choice for replacement pipes for this model yet, but I think I've chosen a rather beautifully crafted piece of titanium. Taking the oe pipe off showed just how heavy it was and the new one is less than half the weight. Best of all is the sound. Wings slogan is 'Because sound matters' and is very apt as this is one sweet sounding pipe.

Thanks, Neal.  Lol

Here's a few pics of Tuesdays rattle around Scotland. I love going over there as the roads out in the countryside are pretty well deserted and easy to 'make progress' on.  Bigsmile

Congrats! Sweet looking bike, too  Bigok

Looks like you have time to head south now. We'll be sure to have the guest bed ready for you. Hurry before the snow flies in the Alps again!

ANother nice thing was the prezzie my wife and kids have clubbed together to buy me. In September, I'm going over to England, down to Kent and will fly with (not in  Sad ) a Spitfire.   http://goactionstations.co.uk/
It's the closest thing I can do here to get up close and personal with my favourite flying icon. My former work mates also bought me a flying lesson at my local airfield, so at least most people know what I like.  Bigsmile
