Wanted a big DS

IIMO, just skip the seat concepts idea and spend the extra for the Sargent.

Here's what I did with mine, have since been inducted into the Les Ismore society and transitioned to a KLX250S.

Mine has a Sargent seat and it is amazing - unbelievable how comfortable it is. Blows away the Corbin on my street bike in every way.

I went with the bigger DR because I will use it for some highway commuting to work also. We looked at a KLX250 for the g/f and daughter but it was just way too tall. We ended up with a DR200 for them.

Yup... 28" inseam and properly beefed up suspension... I've gotten real good at 'gettin' my stork on'... and just not stopping works too

Still not decided on tires.Leaning towards some Michelin Annakee II's or III's or Shinko 705's or Pirellie Scorpions.Anyone running these tires?

I have ridden most of the available bikes out there but there was always a trade off , one had too tall a saddle, another needed suspension upgrades another's brakes were not up to par....Trade offs seemed like the norm with the Japanese bikes as well as any other I looked at...Well I found one last year after a test ride on it...I got me a Terra by Husky....It works for me, might not do for a majority of riders but it looks good runs like stink and is loads of fun to ride

 I've done several ADVenture rides and we got one planned for end of March anyone on the East Coast that hadn't heard of it here's a link marchmotomadness.com

Nice bike, one of the guys I taught with out west got one... he looked at KLR's, DR's and the G650GS, found all he liked in the GS (literally, same bits) + some things like the spoked wheels. Have fun!

I like the Terra and gave it some thought actually.Is Husqy still in business?I bought this DR as more of a do it all bike,not a hard core ADV style bike.My general riding area is mostly decent pavement,gravel and very little "B" style roads.It's good enough for what I'll be using this bike for.

I jonesed for a Tenere,but didn't have the cash for that.This bike will do.

Another Moose Racing chain roller.Although the more I read most big DR owners ditch the upper chain roller for good.I'll leave it on.Sure was a pain in the ass do get my fingers up in there too.



It's finally getting decent out enough to get out there.Still putting off a different seat.Tires, I'm going to need soon.
Any tire advice?

Remove the upper. It can break off and take a chunk of the frame with it. Replace the bolt with a shorter one so the empty bolt hole doesn't collect water and dirt and promote rust.

I think I'm going to try the Shinko 705s on my WRR when I need tires this summer.  I too only need an 80/20 tire, and not really riding any mud.  I think the 705s will work well for that purpose and the WRR owners that have used them are reporting very long life.

A quick update.Haven't done much but change the oil.That was quick and easy and used Castrol.Still needing tires,but seems my wifes car needs brakes too.

I have to say that this bike I'll probably end up keeping as I ride/buy/trade in other street bikes.I always smile when i take out the DR.But the seat effin sucks ass

Not an update at all. Just enjoying the shit out of this motorcycle.So much fun to ride.I'm going to need tires maybe before the end of the year and maybe not.I've solved my ass problem with an AirHawk seat cushion.

DR peeps?What tires would you all suggest? I'm probably 80 percent road tire and the rest is shitty gravel/B road.
