With four days still on the countdown clock, we didnít expect to see the 2014 KTM Super Duke 1290 R until its October debut, but those crafty Frenchies at Moto-Station have gotten their hands on a couple photos of Austriaís new street hooligan machine.

Nice to see they went with a SSSA.  I think that's KTM's first one.  Overall it's a nice design and looks more cohesive than the previous model, IMO.  Thumbsup

It's hard to see in the pics, but I think it's a trellis SSSA, which is really cool.

I think the whole bike looks great.  The exhaust is, as usual these days, ugly, but considering all the emissions regulations these days, one can't expect them to look good.  Besides, the stock exhaust is usually the first thing to go.

Neil Johnston needs to do a review on the Super Duke; why? See below.

Just not in a bad way.

Yeah. The specs are out.

It's not a 1290, it's an oversquare 1301 !

180 hp, 106 lb ft of torque (74 lb ft at 2500 rpm), 33" seat height, 4.75g gas tank,  the same Bosch MSC as the adventure (at least according to Visordown), and the same brakes as the Pani but with stupidmoto mode to allow you to turn off the rear ABS and back it in.

I think I saw 14k GBP as a price, which is quite steep. Can't do the direct covert, but still...

Can't wait to see ride reports.

Wow!  180 HP and the ability to to from zero to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 7.2 seconds with a 15,000 km service interval?  I'm impressed.

I'd hit it.  It seems as if it might be a nice cross between my old K1200R and my S1000RR.  In black it isn't too bad looking, either.
