It's a 2011 Dorsoduro 750. A consignment sale at a local dealer who used to sell Aprilias. Has only 858 miles on the odo; and simply priced way low for me to pass up.

Congrats! You won't stop smiling every time you ride it.

Thanks. Picking it up tomorrow after it's inspected (
the dealer for some reason doesn't do inspections
). I'll probably sell my under-utilized F800S to make some room in the garage.

Nice! I tested one of those the other year and really liked the sweet motor and chassis. Enjoy!

Well today I learn it's a 2009; not a 2011 (they have a used 1200cc DD as well and the salesman got 'confused'). Still a good deal.

Woot! What a fun bike.
Nice upright riding position. Good turning angle. Easy shifting. Clean air at highway speeds and the mirrors are actually useable. Snarly stock exhaust note. I was a bit concerned about the rear turn signals having been changed out for LED's until I read on the Aprilia forum that the stock turn signals' design is crappy and they're prone to just breaking off. Will take a longer ride tomorrow.

Put 230 miles on it today, from Annapolis to High Rock & back. Last 80 miles or so my butt was killing me - the stock seat's definitely not an all-dayer.

$132 for a gel seat, but owners don't think it's an improvement. Pretty though.

I'm going to 'borrow back' the Airhawk cushion I gave to Rue for her Ninja and see how much of a diff it makes. I also have some T-foam to experiment with modifying the stock seat.

Very nice
Looks great in black.

...a Japanese manufacturer might take the motor, castrate it to about 110 hp and stick it in a cheaper, heavier chassis with low-spec suspension and brakes and slice an ‘R’ or two off the name. That’s not how Aprilia roll

There's a school of thought in bicycle racing that you just hafta log long hours in the saddle to develop a "butt callous"

Actually, after reading on the Aprilia forum that the DD1200 has a thicker seat I'm going to try that first. At the very least I'll have the stock 750 seat to mod.

I'm really, really trying to resist over-farkling this bike. I tend to put luggage on everything and fall into "mission overlap".
