No Bandit 1250 for 2014? or 2013 or 2012 it seems.....

I think this may only be a news flash for me...
I just checked out Suzuki's website to see the new 2014 bikes and bold new graphics
, and didn't see a Bandit 1250 for this next year. So I clicked on the old 1250 and it looks like the last time it was produced was 2011.
I really keep up well
.
I guess it really was an old design that didn't sell anymore.
On a positive note, I see there is a new V Strom 1000.
I really hope Suzuki stays afloat. I really like owning their motorcycles better than any other brand. Don't get me wrong, Ducatis and Aprilias have much more of a "neat" factor, but I just want to ride the thing, do regular maintenance, and have the bike work well every time. Suzuki does that really well. Kind of like owning a Honda, except that Honda doesn't make a 750 SS.

The GSX1250FA seems to have fallen through the cracks, not enough Sport or Tour for the lager markets, and seen as too unsophisticated for many in the small, mainstream ST market. If you really dig around, there are still left over 2011 units new that can be had for a song. My old dealer in WA still had one at the end of the summer before we moved, I think mine was only 1 of 2 they sold since 2011.

Seems like the bandit 1250 never sold in huge numbers. Went to a Suzuki dealer in 2011 and found a new 2009 1250 bandit abs sitting next to a new 2008 bking, both selling for $7999.00. Great useful and practical bike, but for the $$ I had to get the big ugly one.

I actually prefer the older half-faired Bandit 1250. Suzuki slapped on full fairing and restyled the headlights to make it look more inline with the corporate identity.
The old Bandit platform, as venerable as it is - is hopelessly outgunned by the newer STs - whether it is the C14/FJR/Trophy/RT heavy cruisers, or the Ninja1000/FZ1 lightweight destoyers.
Besides, these days, a lot more folks are drawn to the adv tourers anyway. Makes sense to put their strained R&D budget where the max ROI potential is.

They still had a 2013 Model in Canada,2014's are not announced yet so i'm not sure if it's still going to be around or not.

The 2014 GSX 1250 is on the Canadian site. Two colours, metallic blue and white.

It seems everyone who's ever wanted a Bandit of any stripe has already bought one and is very happy with it. The market has disappeared for a few years, methinks.

I alo thnk it has to do with marketing. Suzuki USA and Suzuki Canada do a poor job of promoting the Bandit/GSX. Still a very popular bike in the UK and EU from what I understand, but something of an orpan over here. They also do not sell the GSR 750 in NA:
https://www.suzuki-gb.co.uk/motorcycles/motorcycles/street/gsr/gsr750/
That would be a wickedly fun bike. naked streetfighter based onthe GSX-R750. WOOT! I want one! It seems Suzuki in the US is really only interested in pushing three lines, GSXR, Boulevard/M and VStrom.

I've always been a Kawasaki Ninja guy (ZX-6R - ZX-14) but decided to try the GSX1250FA for more sport touring. Just got back from a 2400km road trip and very happy with the new bike!

I got my GSX1250SEA back in December 2011. Logged about 50,000 km since. It has been on a few very protracted trips. All round very fun bike.

My 2011 with 3 piece touring kit, in great shape, many extras, is for sale well under NADA if anyone is interested. I would love to keep it, just can't afford the new ride without selling it.
