 I don't know that I'd go that far, but I do know how to read a map. My partner in crime is a good route planner. I usually just follow her around. Judging from the polling it looks like we will be somewhere in the northern Sierras in June. There have been a few good suggestions for base camp locations already. Time to start doing some research.

Hi Guys,  

Been a few years since I joined in the fun.  I did the Fortuna meets and they were always fun but I know that can get boring goung to the same place evey year. Not sure if Gil and Becky are still involved but they were great hosts.  

Quincy is only 1.5 hrs from my house and there are a lot of really nice rides near Quincy for some loops etc.  Either location is good in my opinion.

If Quincy you have Laporte Road, Bucks Lake Road, Hwy 49 through Downieville, up around Lake Almanor to name a few rides.  

I will try and make it this year.

 Still on as far as I'm concerned. This is day 20 of 12hr shifts for me so not much time to post lately.

 That's the plan.

 All that's left is to decide on a base of operations in Ashland. There is the Caldera Brewery right next to the Best Western Windsor Inn. Looks like a possibility.

I was waiting until the 28th before assuming you all were coming here.  The Caldera Brewery is good, just had dinner there last night, $10 hamburgers, $12 single serving pizza's, chi chi, with over 100 beers and a full bar to choose from.  There is a Holiday Inn Express closer than the Best Western, might be a better price, I will go by each one, figure out the best deal and let you know.  There is also a little independant place close by, I think they go for $45 a night.  I was thinking we could have a bbq at my house Friday night for those that want to, I can pick you up from your motel and deliver you back if you want to have a few more than is safe to ride with.  
Saturday I was planning on putting together some map books with varying length ride directions.  I can do everything from 75 mile loops for those that want some time in town to 350 mile loops for those that want to ride all day.  Any ADV folks who want some nice graded dirt chime in now and I'll set up a loop like that as well.  Since each loop follows different roads I am likely to recruit from local riders and get some guides if ya'll want them...and some of these loops follow killer back roads that don't really show how cool they are on maps....
Saturday Night can be dinner at Caldera, Sunday Breakfast at Morning Glory (best breakfast food in town)  or  Breadboard (2nd best breakfast in town) and Bon Voyage.
Please let me know if this is too much planning, I just want you all to enjoy yourselves.
PS, I would include a stop by Hansen's BMW, Triumph , Ducati, best shop ever!  These guys rock!

Sadly, I am out. Have a persistent DVT and treatment means I cannot ride till, hopefully, Aug. High dose warfarin and crash = no riding mc.

I was hoping it would be any weekend but June 7-8, as my daughter's 18th birthday is June 6th. So it doesn't appear that I'll be able to make it either. On the plus side, this should be the last year where my child's birthday interferes with the WCRM.

Yeah, big break in riding this year,  but my years of Rugby, injuries caught up.  I used to think this was my good leg. This too shall pass .. and if not. Spyder here I come !!
