Somebody with OR knowledge will need to step up, and suggest locations. Ones that are civilized, and cultured of course.

You mean like this, from Page 2?

I rallied and pushed and prodded for Southern Oregon 8 or 9 years ago and am tempted to do it again and here is why:  Loops from 55 miles to 400 miles with a ton of twisites on them, accommodations in every budget range, 3 major motorcycle shops/dealers including the best dealer I've ever dealt with in my 40+ years of riding, world class food and world class micro breweries....just sayin' that sounds like a good weekend to me...oh yeah, one other plus, adv types, there are loops with decent stretches of dirt road as well...

...that's the one downside to having the WCRM in my backyard, no riding to get there, the upside is I get to show all you beautiful people how all my roads belongs to you...Anyway, yes there are a ton of Motels within walking distance of the Caldera brew pub.  Downtown has (Ashland this is btw) Standing Stone and they have a ton of lodging close by there too.  Ashland is really loaded with B&B's also for those who like that sort of thing, I fell in love with B&B's in Europe, usually cheaper than a Motel and good food for brekkie...It would also be eminently possible to have a bbq at my house for up to 25 people on any given night as well...

Spray is not civilized. They have only Coors Light and Budweiser. Empty it from your mind.

I vote for Wade to be appointed Rally Master and to do all the work.  The rest of us can sit on our butts, show up at his house Friday night for a free BBQ, drink all his beer, and go riding the next day if we are not too hung over.   Repeat same Saturday night.  Bigok

Define civilized.

A shower that works, good food/beer within walking distance, a comfy clean bed, and a safe place to park the bike overnight.

You mean like this, from Page 2?

 Exactly!

Another one for Oregon ... fickle, ain't we?   Lol

Ashland is almost NorCal which, for those from Southern Cal, makes a somewhat lesser distance than Spray.

San Diego to Ashland is about 800 miles ... which is about the same distance for me. Both involve some slabbing unless you have time to meander.

Welcome aboard!   Craig and I were riding partners to Weaverville last year and still have the sunburn to prove it.  Bigsmile  We are planning to attend WCRM again this year if we can find a way to fit the dates into our schedules.

There is a preliminary date poll in the neighborhood. Better hurry over there as it closes this Friday just like this one. After that it's down to exact locations, and dates within the month.

Due to the surprising lack of bitching it looks like this will be the final word on WCRM '14. Those who don't like it can always organize their own meet. Many here claim to prefer groups of 1 anyway. I have had good luck riding with fellow STN'rs myself. They seem to be a like-minded bunch of mostly middle-aged hooligans.

What? I still plan on doing a lot of bitching. I am going to bitch about the location until I convince everyone to change it and then announce that I can't make it at the last minute.  Smile  :pokestick:
