Thanks for setting this up, Frank!

Which night will be the group dinner?  I believe I can be there Monday and Tuesday nights, but not Wednesday night.

If I get the new bike in time, here's the plan.

Day 1: Jefferson City, MO --> Nashville, TN (6/15)
Day 2: Nashville, TN -- > Maggie Valley, NC (6/16)
Day 3: Maggie Valley, NC (6/17)
Day 4: Maggie Valley, NC (6/18)
Day 5: Maggie Valley, NC (6/19)
Day 6: Maggie Valley --> Columbus, OH (6/20)
Day 7: Columbus, OH --> Holland, MI (6/21)
Day 8: Holland, MI (6/22)
Day 9: Holland, MI --> Chicago, IL (6/23)
Day 10: Chicago, IL --> Jefferson City, MO (6/24)

If nothing else better comes up I'll be there!  Lol

I would suggest Tuesday to Frank as it is the traditional night for the group dinner, at least at all the nationals I have attended.

I guess this means he's going to hitch hike...

If we aren't in geographic transition, I'm a likely suspect for this gather... kid on pillion. There is a killer BBQ joint there that we hit back in Oct... don't remember the name, it was a shack attached to and old service station/store on the outskirts of town, rolled in about 1 PM and got the last 4 plates of food. Gotta love places that sell out of food...

June 22.
May have to hit that on the way home from the national.   MMMMMmmmm BBQ  Drool

Have you scheduled at least a day at the microbreweries in Asheville???   If you want a great BBQ place try 12 Bones in Asheville, two locations.  Maybe we can go for a ride together again without my bike dying this time  Lol

looks like a pretty good trip.

If you decide to do this route/trip, let me know.  I've got a place in franklin, Tn (15 miles south of Nashville) you can stay at. I was planning on heading over to the national on either Sunday or Monday.  If I go sunday, I plan on staying at the Deal's Gap that evening, then taking a longer route to M. Valley on Monday.  If I go on Monday I plan to head over all the way...aprox 300 miles via Cherahola Skyway and Deal's Gap from here to M. Valley....all back roads.

Hi Pat,
There are some excellent roads E of Maggie Valley around Hot Springs, Erwin and Burnsville.   Hope to get a Ky trip going this spring, Ron or no Ron.

Alright, putting in my vacation request sheet for the year this week. I've got one week I have to burn as a block. Unless something happens, it's time to head home for a while! Blue Ridge Parkway, here I come!

Rod....you guys need to come on over to Franklin sometime.  There is some outstanding roads west of town between here and the Tn. river area.  Very easy to set up some 200 mile loops of fun roads.  Lots of great places to eat here as well.  You gonna be at TriStar or Mail Pouch this year?  I think I'll do the STN national instead of STAR.  Your welcome to come up to Ky anytime you want...got a spare room there as well.  Be great to see ou guys again.

I've been looking at roads in KY, primarily SE.  It is just too far for day trips from home so it will have to be motel camping LOL.  I will definitely keep your invite in mind.  Mail Pouch is a 99%'er but it has gotten to the point I can ride the TriStar roads blind.

Hey Gary,
I'm going to be there for sure, just don't know what the logistics will be.  Maggie Valley is only two hours from home.  Like I said before there are some super roads east of there into TN and NC.

Looks like we will have some fun this summer.   It is about 60 out today with clear blue sky.  Hadn't ridden for a couple months, weather has really sucked.  Amazing how riding just about an hour in those conditions can change your whole outlook on life.
Take care,
Rod

Well, I may not be good to go after all... just found out that I'm probably starting a new job in the next few weeks, taking a week off in March to go to NorCal for my nieces wedding, stepping off that red eye home and starting my week of Total Control Instructor certification. That two weeks off is going to dig into my flexibility until work quiets down in the fall, me thinks. As it is, I may have to postpone my TC cert... which would suck, it would be awesome to do it locally.
