I'm 62 and I act like I'm 30. I just bought my second ZX14. I put 60,000 miles on my first one before selling it and buying another. Age is a state of mind. I walked across Spain last year, a 600 mile walkabout. I still walk, bicycle, hike, climb mountains, ski and ride every opportunity I get. I'm pretty much as fit and as strong today as I was in my 30's. The less you do the less you will be able to do. Keep moving and don't slow down. It's harder to hit a moving target.

Yeah, but you have the same geezer bike I have, so we must be 50 in spirit.

I was 50 when I joined. Late bloomer.
You should have already purchased a Guzzi by now
Is there a problem?

No problem here - I have the requisite old guys Guzzi too. It keeps my ZX14 company.

Yup they count too - but not without pictures - and maybe not as old guy / or gal geyser bikes.
I will see your Ducati and raise you one.

Our demographic is really aging for sure.
Do they even sell Sport Touring bikes any longer?
Yup...... but, they dress 'em up as, and renamed 'em as........ "Adventure Touring" bikes.
BTW, I be almost 57 and still got me a sport bike (really hard to give it up). And, gonna flip out my big-ass German Panzer to a KTM 1190 for my Sport-Touring needs

You're only as old as you feel.

Some days I'm eighty.

There's an honest man! Most days I'm closer to twenty but once in a while the eighty year old guy shows up! Must be those past bounces and bumps!!!!!

Add me to the group that was under 40 when I got here, but no longer.
Odd part is, less chronic pain now than I was in my 30's (long standing back issues that have mostly been resolved), but less energy now too. Those two things shouldn't go together.

S/T bikes, just like D/S bikes, tend to draw an older crowd. Why? As we age we tend to back away from the extremes of the sport. On the typical D/S ride the over 50 crowd runs around 50%, same for most rides involving S/T bikes. On the other hand if you're 50 or older and show up for a sportbike ride or at the local MX track you may get called "pops."
Are their exceptions? Sure, some old riders continue to rock on MX tracks, harescrambles, etc and tear up the street or track on sportbikes but they are in the minority compared to the younger crowd. Just the way it is.
As for the aging demographic of sport-touring? I think it's mostly because of the lower number of folks coming into motorcycles over all.
And yes, the ADV market is "hot" and the S/T market has cooled. For one thing the big-ass bikes they are calling ADV bikes these days are powerful, comfy, and have lots of cool bells and whistles. And most importantly they have that "Adventure" moniker attached to them. Pure marketing genius at work. You go play on your "Sport-Tourer" I'm jumping on my "Adventure bike". Doesn't matter that they are both likely to be ridden on the same roads and end up in the same places, one is cooler than the other.
