...you go play on your "Sport-Tourer" I'm jumping on my "Adventure bike"...
I'm so glad that you posted this up, Windblown.
I just realized that I'm missing out!
I'm not having adventures, I'm just sport touring! I gotta go get me one of those bikes that takes me on adventures.
Seriously, though, I think you nicely summarize what's going on out there. And perhaps our risk-averse society perceives adventure bikes as being friendlier somehow than, say, sportbikes. Even though many adventure bikes are legit sportbike fast.

Yep. Riding an "Adventure" bike makes your piss shoot out 4' further and when you put your foot on the peg just right while standing next to the bike you'll look just like Capt. Morgan.

37. . . Been riding for over 10 years. 1994 CBR 600f2, to a 2004 600F4i, to a 2004 ST1300. . . .I can beat the sport bike guys I ride with in the curves(the sharper the better) but they have me on the straight sections. . . . . Averaged 2k a year with my F2, 7k a year on my F4i, and now doing 17k a year on my ST. . .less than 100 commuting miles since I started riding. . . .90% of all total miles is back roads. . .
