There is an old "How old are you" poll, but it was started in 2007 and died out in 2009.  A lot has changed since then, so it will be interesting to see if our demographics have changed.   Thumbsup

127 views and only 8 votes in the poll.    I wonder if most of those views are google web crawler ad bots or some shit.    Thumbsdown

I voted. I'll only say that I am old enough to know better and still young/able  enough to do it. Besides, I don't take one prescription and feel much younger than I am!   Razz

The poll doesn't show up on Tapatalk so us phone folk can't vote. I'll do it next time I ride here on a PC.

For the record: 57

I have the same birthday as Ed.

EDIT: The vote's in.

Hmmmm.

I'm 53.  Someone above posted about how long they'd been riding, and I realized that I've been riding motorbikes for almost exactly 30 years.  I bought my first bike in August of 1983.

So far, only seven people younger than 40 have voted.  Ouch.   Sad  Not to get overly metaphysical here, but does this reflect an issue within motorbiking in general?  The motorbiking obsession certainly would be healthier with an influx of young blood.

Or maybe the impact on motorcycling of safety overconsciousness in general?  And why is the richest society the world has ever known so scared of stuff?   Headscratch

Good for you!  I think I'll stay here if you don't mind, though.

I've got nothing against more "mature" riders.  Just think it's strange there aren't more guys my age here.  Could be they've all been run off by all the political BS, or maybe they just didn't think they fit in.  Over at Adv Rider, that's certainly not the case and there seems to be a more balanced mix.  Not sure why.

I'm guessing most of the u-40 crowd is generally not interested in touring and primarily ride sportbikes. Our local sportbike group is probably about 80-90 percent under 40 and it's like pulling teeth to get them out of the city limits.
