Not often you see me in this forum... but I got to spend a fun couple of hours riding a Beta 498RR (I think) around the mountains of Wyoming this weekend. Didn't have proper gear, and just rode on ATV trails, which is about as gnarly an off-road stuff as I can handle with zero training and little experience. Bike was awesome. Torque everywhere, easy first and 2nd gear throttle wheelies, seemed about as planted as I could hope for in grassy/slippery stuff, though I still clenched my sphincter every time I got bumped off the dirt track. I really need to get used to not having any traction.
Drove 2 and 4 seater Arctic Cat Wildcats also... very capable beasts, though the 4-seater basically feels like a jeep. Goes right up the steep stuff in 4wd and is remarkably stable on dirt trails and on road at up to 65 miles per hour.
I really prefer standard ATVs for that kind of thing, though... much more immersive and requires more from the rider. The 'razor' types really do just feel like cars.
Made me want to get a dirt bike and actually learn how to ride the harder stuff.
