One week left before we have to put in our shirt order! You can order your WeSTOC 20 gear at http://WeSTOC.org/gear/shirts. We will NOT have any shirts available for purchase at WeSTOC, so if you’re interested in getting a WeSTOC shirt you need to pre-order it on the website before August 10th!

I would like to remind everyone that Richard Battles, owner of RKA Motorcycle Luggage, will be presenting a seminar entitle “Communications: The evolution of evolution” on Wednesday the 26th at 4:30. If we can get 75 or more WeSTOC attendees to sit in on the seminar Richard will probably raffle off a SENA SMH20S Bluetooth headset. This is the latest, greatest technology and a $300.00 value!!! Be sure and consider attending to see Richard’s presentation and to have a chance to win a GREAT prize!

The complete event schedule is available at http://westoc.org/event/schedule.

A little over a week to go! 4 more days left to register for WeSTOC 20……

Regrettably, Richard battles of RKA Motorcycle Luggage has had to cancel his trip to WeSTOC and the seminar he had planned to give. However, Richard has generously contributed over $200 to our prize fund! We hope to see Richard next year at WeSTOC 21. For those of you who were looking forward to a chance to win a Sena Audio system, good news! I’ve purchase two, dual Sena SMH10 audio systems to give away at the banquet! Smile We’ll have over $2,100 of prizes to raffle away Thursday night!

Check-in for WeSTOC will begin at 1:00 pm on Monday the 24th in the east lobby area behind the hotel’s front desk. Emergency contact info, a signature and an optional question (for contests), and you’ll receive your name badge/wallet, schedule and any shirts you ordered. Ride maps will be on display in room 3132 near the check-in area.

The current schedule can always be seen here: http://westoc.org/event/schedule

For those of you interested in the Geocache contest/ride, here is a list of the 10 Geocaches along the Coeur D’Alene Lake Loop http://westoc.org/rides/133-miles-coeur-dalene-lake-loop.  For those of you who don’t know what Geocaching is, it’s like treasure hunting with a gps. You can learn more about Geocaching at http://geocaching.com. On the Geocaching site you enter your current location and it shows you all of Geocaches hidden around your area. (You won’t have to do this at WeSTOC as we’ve already found the 10 cache locations for you.)

If you’ve never tried geocaching before, there are a few methods for geocaching.

1.   Go to http://geocaching.com, enter the GC codes for these caches and print out the info about each geocache. The cache page will have the coordinates and description of the cache, etc. Many of these are historical caches which and interesting story behind them.  Using your gps and the coordinates listed you can hunt each cache. You’ll need to know how to manually enter a waypoint and coordinates into your gps to do this.
2.   Download the route file for the WeSTOC rides. These 10 geocaches have already been entered into the files. Just transfer them to your gps. You’ll still want to print out the cache pages for reference. You’ll probably still want to print out the individual cache pages which include more information about the cache, and possibly hints to help you find it.
3.   Download the iOS or Android geocaching app and use your phone to hunt the caches. You can enter the GC code directly into the app and download everything you’ll need to find the caches. The app uses the gps in your phone to route you right to the cache! NOTE: There might not be cellular data service at all 10 locations! The geocaching app lets you download the info for caches ahead of time and store the data in your phone allowing you to hunt caches in the “offline” mode. I would urge you to learn how to do this!!

Happy hunting!
