Well, been riding the Cali for almost two months now, and I still smile when I'm walking towards it, smile walking from it, and look back and take a look at it when walking away in a parking lot! I've had several bikes through the years, and liked them all, but this one is different. The ride, the riding position, the sound, the look, the feel! I am sure glad I found the Guzzi!!!! Every time I go for a ride somewhere, and people see it, they look at it, then slowly get this look on their face
as they slowly realize it isn't a Harley. Then as they summon up the courage to ask what it is, another look comes over them even more confused, lost as they struggle to figure out what a Moto Guzzi is!!! Yesterday went for a ride and ended up parked at hot dog place in touristy town near Ottawa, there was a line of Harleys, a couple of spaces and a line of sport bikes, so I pulled into the empty space between the two. As I was taking off my gear the owners of the Harley next to me came out and started getting ready to leave, the look on their faces was priceless! You could almost hear the voices in their headsm,"Huh, whaat....Not a Harley......." It was great! Love the bike, love the uniqueness!! Just have to remember to tighten the screws regularly, lost one screw on the right lower exhaust heat shield. Metric screws are some hard to find around here!!!!

I've read that it is a very nice ride and has plenty of power. Good for you.
On the other hand, if you've got vibration problems and have to check often to see what you've lost, I'll give you 50 cents on the dollar for it and bail you out!!

Because the heat shield screws go into the pipes themselves Loctite won't work in this application. Either deforming the thread slightly with a file or using schnoore washers is the best way to prevent them jumping ship.

Is it any wonder why I love Guzzis?

LOL. You could also try Nord Lock washers. I use them all the time at work. Very effective.

Nah, a Bellville doesn't have the serrated surface and depends purely on its connical shape to pre-load the thread form.

Two good solutions, but if you can find Nord Locks, there is nothing better on the planet. I maintain and rebuild large machines for a living, some with some serious vibration. These are what the factory assembles them with.
I see Fastenal carries them, but you may have to buy a bag of 25...lol.

I'm the ignorant one here...Pete didn't make it up after all.
Looks like Schnorr is from Michigan.
Never heard those washers called that before.
Those NordLock washers are sweet!
Just the thing for times when you don't want vibration to move your bolts ever.
