For the new Scrambler?
Actually, I like it more than I thought I would and they should sell a ton of them.

I love it. $8495 is a great starting price. Better looking than the Triumph Scrambler, less expensive, and it weighs nearly 100lbs less!

Well, it made for an interesting day, that's for sure!
(*this was actually the best thing that happened to the Monster, actually. It's now a salvage title and I couldn't be happier.)

Holy crap...that's umm, an interesting though risky, (line could get caught up in the wheel's) solution.
Must have taken a lot of co-ordination to keep the line taut.
How could a scrap title be a good thing?

Ohhh yeah... 15 more ponies, 6 spd transmission, and will likely have better suspension then the Triumph, BRING IT! Looks to be the perfect day ride, capable both on road and on the gravel, I don't need a knarley adventure pig bike for day duty..
Make mine the Scrambler Full Throttle with the Terminoni!
I was at the local Duc/BMW/Triumph dealer yesterday and they are very excited about Duc Scrambler, ETA is April.

Actually the whole towing thing was a non-event. We actually rolled about 90 miles that way to get the bikes into a position where we could load them into the truck and get out.
The Salvage Title: Yep, the Monster is worth more to me personally with the salvage title than a clean title. The Monster gets to do regular track days and as such I don't want any emotional attachment to it. Also, the bike doesn't quite tour as well as I'd have preferred. So, the salvage payout on the bike was actually enough for me to buy a very clean, low mileage 2010 F800GS nicely kitted. To make things more attractive: the salvage on the Monster reduced the cost of insurance and reg.
So, the salvaged bike actually paid for my F800GS and reduced my overall annual insurance cost by over $300 a year.
I have a Monster with 19,500 miles on it in great condition (*JB Weld on the engine), a second bike for touring, and lower overall ownership costs.
Win. Win.

The U.S. market Scramblers are assembled in...Thailand.
Saw the demo at the local dealer, in proper red, but just not sure; it has ABS. I'd have to ride it before deciding.

Actually, they are selling a ton of them. Ducati sales up 14% led by a simple little bike with zero extraneous technology: no abs, no tc, no es, no bs, and very modest engine power compared to many other models, and outselling the highly vaunted MTS12, *2:1*. Sure, it's 1/2 the price too, but that can't totally account for its popularity/high sales.
Good for Ducati to come up with a winning, simple formula.

I thought that ALL Ducatis(2014+) came w/ ABS standard... Including the Scrambler, that's what the owner of Ducati Detroit told me.
Please enlighten me.
Thanks

Oops, my bad, it does come with abs standard, but nothing else re extraneous technologies like es and tc etc.
