Isn't "character" (in vehicles and people) a euphemism for idiosyncratic and difficult?

I think "patena" also applies.  Lol

Adventure tourer has no sex appeal.

Couldn’t get any if it wanted too.

I went to a Motorcycle Sport Touring Association (MSTA) ride to eat today. Fifteen bikes showed up - thirteen ADV bikes, one naked bike, and one FJR.

That's like the BMW club that eats at a place near me on weekends.  20 years ago, 25-30 BMW's and a handful of other bikes were there.  I've never owned a BMW, so I was always one of the "other" bikes.  Now, there's about 5 to 10 bikes that regularly show up and there's never more than 2 BMW's.  Usually there are none.

The opposite has happened. Tall-Rounders in (adv bikes), big four cylinder tourers out. As adv bikes became more popular that's where the development and tech went.
