That's nice, but can it be made into jerky?

Right on!  Thanks Marcster!

My pleasure....  If you are going to Colleen & Dan's Tech Day this Saturday, you can try some of it then as I'll be testing out a few flavors.

Right now I have Whiskey Jerky & Mexican Jerky marinading in the 'fridge now (for Saturday).  I have to run out to the market for more meat, but I'll probably have six flavors for Colleen & Dan's.

OK here's an update.  I was speaking to this guy again and he said that the problem area is the section from the big rock down the mountain into Renova.  This is the section that was tar and chipped last year.  Apparently all the drilling equipment and sand and water trucks have destroyed that surface.  That's the bad news.

The good news is that since the tar/chip fell apart they are scheduled to actually pave that section this Thursday.  Now they are still drilling up there but it they put down some decent pavement it should hold up to the drilling traffic.  I'll check it out as it gets a little closer.

That being said they are still drilling up there but I'm sure on the weekend there should be little truck traffic.  They are logging the area pretty hard as well but those trucks are parked on the weekend.

Thanks for the update on 144 south.

The Burger Run is only one month away! WOOT!

I will contact Dennys and inquire about the outdoor food option (again). I will also inquire about a T-shirt. I have a design at home (posterized burger photo with "Go Big or Go Home", will post here tonight) that I can make available via Cafe Press.

I have my route for the long ride up mostly figured out (400 miles to go 100 miles). Let's hope for some fine spring weather. Need to make a reservation at the Days Inn yet though. Anyone know for sure what the status of the bar is?

I believe it's still closed. I'm willing to throw $$$ at someone who can truck stuff in (I'll be riding in, WOOT!) or do a run-n-fetch once there.

Are there alternatives within stumbling distance, or should we just plan on standing around in the parking lot drinkin'?  Not that I'm complaining, in the past I could only take about 20 minutes of the lounge before the loud music drove me out.  Yup, I'm (getting) old.

The parking lot party is always good fun. Just need to find a beer distributor nearby to make a beer run (after emptying the hard luggage).

I'm up for Skee's recommendation.  A group on sport-touring bikes should be able to handle plenty of beer!  I'm up for a parking lot party. They are usually chill unless the TP Gods strike!

ps...Yeah, I'll be picking up good beer!  Haha.

The alternate route is 879, Quehanna Hwy, Wyckoff Run, 120 to get from I-80 to Renovo. That's a nice ride too  Thumbsup

Let's hope the heavy truck traffic isn't affecting those roads too. Maybe cablebandit has some info on them and what shape they are in...

It looks like Denny's Beer Barrel Pub would be the closest bar that would sell 6-packs or West Side Distributing (2 miles away) would be the closest beer distributor to sell cases:

Maybe + 1

That would be a pleasure, John.   Thumbsup

I plan on leaving the Ephrata area early and doing a 200-230 mile ride there (around 5-5.25hrs).

I'm thinking either 125/44/120/Wycoff Run, 235/44/120/Wycoff Run, or 849/74/333/26/453.

I'll take Option #2 please.

333 south of 522 is pretty nasty.

Keeping an eye on this thread... Since we've bailed on the tech day.

The only problem I see is that its the weekend after the Cape Fear 1000 rally. Asking to take two successive weekends off is kinda frowned upon at work.
