I saw a guy on an ST1100 with one a them flip up helmets and a huge walrus mustache.

I thought,"Holy shit! That could be me in 10 years"! and nearly swerved off the road.

I think you can grow that mustache in 2 years.

Guys, can't we just put this to bed once and for all? If you ride a harley you are in fact, a fag. No grey area on this one here, simply a cock sucking, anal prolapsed, small dicked, leather vested, baby batter gulping fag...

There could be fifty RTs and three hundred assorted GoldWings and ST1100/1300s out there and you'd never hear a one of them.

Razz I have found out that being 46 and owning a Goldwing "made me feel older" at first; until I rode the Wing nonstop for approximately 350 miles. When I got off the bike in an upright postion and was able to walk without the aid of crutch's"I felt very teenagerish"!...... Twofinger

YES! And I'm subjecting myself to a crowd of about 300 bikes tonite, 80% HD at least, and just about every goddamn one of them is running straight pipes. I'm working so gotta be around them, damnit.

Why the hell the local Sheriff Dept doesn't just park at the end of the restaurant driveway and tag all of these assholes with tickets beats me. Either enforce the noise laws or admit that you selectively choose which laws you bother with.

I'm waiting for electric powered HD's.  Just think of the peace and quiet.  No more straight pipe pirates disturbing my wa.  Just the gentle sound of leather fringes and tassels in the breeze.  AHHHH   Lol

Ugh...   I mean,  yay!

My son just bought his first REAL bike,   an early 2000's Sportster...    He's a metal worker,  so it suits him.  He'll be able to make any accessory he can imagine.

The sucky part is:   HE has a bike, & I have to envy his.... for NOW...

I know a lot of cops, and about half of my friends are cops.

Many of them ride motorcycles.  Guess which brand.

Does that answer your question?

Out of the... oh, 20 or so cops I know personally who ride motorcycles, the percentage of those who ride HD's hovers around... wait... oh yes.  100%.  All but one or two have straight pipes.

Saw this in real life today. Harley riders do shit like this. Nuff said.

Of course few on this forum would know this is at LEAST a 1986 Shovelhead Sportster! How many "other" 1986 ( or earlier) motorcycles do you see running around?

ummm..tons..and they are not all HDs..

HDs have an advantage anyways..most old japanese bikes are run to hell as commuters etc...Beat them to high hell with hard stop and go miles.

HDs just sit in garages and come out in the sun to show off and set off car alarms...maybe pull an easy highway run...

Keep telling yourself that narrow minded bullshit and if you do it often enough, some of the guys here will buy it.

I've had all kinds of bikes and I ride. ( I've had a bike since I was 12 years old and have ridden every since! That would be since 1964.)
My V-Rod had over 12k after one year. My C14 had 17K after 1 1/2 years. I ride a motorcycle, and have little tolerance for jackasses that ride all kinds of bikes that feel they are better than someone else that rides because of "BRAND!"

There is no prefect motorcyle, but every bike I've every had was more fun to ride than a car. Yet we insist on "labeling" everyone that chooses to ride something different!
I can appreaciate a nice Ducati and I've owned my share of old English bikes, I now ride a Harley. And like some others here that can be honest, there are far more Harleys on the road than any other bike. The new Harleys are very reliable and far more comfortable to put big miles on than many "sport" bikes. My friend that has a Monster can ride for an hour before he's DONE.
Tues. I jumped on my bike and rode for 11 hours from one Great Lake to the other and a more than a few miles in between.
So just "kid" yourself that guys aren't riding their Harleys just as many ( or more) miles than "YOUR" bike. BMW, Honda Goldwings, and Harley are the main bike I see every day when I ride!
There are some asshats on Harleys, but the same can be said of any other bike. I stopped to help a guy on Gixxer this spring. He had on shorts, T-shirt and his helemt hanging on the bars of his "NEW" bike. He was mid-40s to early 50's, he'd had the GIXXER for  a week. His problem? He'd stopped in a "higher gear" and stalled tring to start out again. He had no idea on how to get back to neutral ( or first gear)!!!
I helped him do that, but I wonder how long he will last out on the road! With his GIXXER and limited skill level! Cool

 Clap
AhYep! I like to consider myself reasonably serious about biking and have owned dozens of various kinds. Never could afford a Harley, and never really fancied more than one or two, but I only trash the 'poseurs'. My buddies that ride Harleys have a lot more miles on 'em than I have on mine this year. And yes, I know of a lot of seriously tricked out sport bikes that never make it out on the street except for a ride to the coffee shop on Sunday morning.
Most serious rider I know of has one of them new big scooter things and rides all year, even in the snow...
As far as H.D. reliability now-a-days... check out that Hoka Hey site. 48 states in two weeks... not bad.

Yeah…the GIXXER did something stupid just like the 50 year old dude the other day who didn’t know how to ride his HD and fell over in the parking lot. What the hell does that prove? Oh..and surprise…a cruiser is better for long distance that a sport bike?!?!?

SURPRISE SURPRISE!!

The issue I have with HD is not so much the bikes(which are now made well enough..not always the case) but with the riders. So please..quit your narrow minded bull crap you feed people and go to a Harley board where people eat it up. Harleys are not bad bikes but are hardly the only bikes with longevity . Go to any third world country and look at the bikes they are running there. Take a HD there, give it their level of maintenance, and watch it fall apart…the old Japanese/euro bikes/scooters are still running on twine and bubble gum…
