Great weekend indeed! No rain and some awesome rides - Thanks Garry for leading and planning and SWRiverstone for organizing. I enjoyed putting faces with screen names - hope everyone gets hope safely.

Doug, a guy stopping by the restaurant at the motel for breakfast met us in the parking lot yesterday and asked us where we were from. When we told him we were from ST-N, he associated it with you Doug, and said he thinks he met you at a Harley dealer in Morgantown. He had a a KTM and a Buell at various times - might help you put a face with the vague description  

I try to always sport an STN sticker on my bike.    I remember the guy, we were attending a Buell Demo truck day.  

I wish I could have made this trip.

A most excellent meet! Thanks to the small-but lively crew who came.

Saturday's ride was great---we pretty much hit all the "best hits" roads. conditions were fine---sunny, with bone-dry, clean roads.   Smoke Hole Road was SUBLIME, strafing the long, twisty gold/orange autumn tunnel. Route 33 was a blast as usual, as was 250 up to the Breastworks...and Garry, I have to agree with you---believe it or not, I'm not sure I've ever ridden 250 west of Monterey (or if I have, it was long ago and I'd forgotten it)...but that section is one of the most outstanding stretches of sport-touring road in the Eastern U.S.---fantastic!  

How was the weather for you guys after I split off in Parsons? (I was coming down with a cold and decided to bail straight up 72 to Kingwood and head home to Morgantown). I kept seeing some ominous, black clouds over Holly Meadows road. I got rained on for a good 20 minutes on Rt.7 between Kingwood and Morgantown---that kinda sucked...but it didn't ruin an otherwise awesome day.

Scott: We rode through some spitting rain leaving Parsons, but the sun came out before we finished Holly Meadows. The view from the top of Location Rd was worth the price of admission IMO. And then the views from Stemple Ridge were equally nice. Did a quick down-and-back run on Cheat Mtn. Back to the motel by 6pm. Had some light rain about 6:30 or so while enjoying a tasty adult beverage, but it stopped before we trundled down the street to the Pizza Hut for dinner.

Made it home about 6pm yesterday,Had a great weekend, (aside from the rain on Friday and Saturday) and racked up another 1k miles for the weekend!

It was a good weekend with an abundance of great riding and great company. A big thank you to Scott for putting the thing together and to Garry for suggesting a great route. I didn't cover all of it but the roads I did hit were spectacular.

Oh, and thanks to Doug for letting us have dry roads all weekend.

Thanks Garry. The original is a vertical with lots of dead space at the bottom. I'll see if I can get a decent horizontal out of it.

I'm pretty sure it's just printed on an 8.5 x 11 so it's close to 4:3. I need to peruse my photos from this year and send a couple off to her for consideration.

FWIW, I finally got the videos transferred to my home PC. The Smoke Hole Rd video looks really good. I started the upload to YouTube before leaving for work (15 minute vid). I will probably post a proper ride report later this week with the photos, vids, and text. Busy tonight, so I won't have any time for the RR until Wed night at the earliest.
