We're trailering (bringing more than one bike Wink) the bikes down to Natural Bridge State Park and setting up Base Camp. We're looking for good roads ina 100-200 mile radius of there, maybe do an overnght, 300 miles out and back the next day. Any must rides? Twisty and hilly please Inlove.

Message sent on a DO NOT MISS ! Please don't post the location on the internet.

12 ft wide, paved, more turns than any road I have ever ridden, and that's saying a lot !

Get one of these, and follow the squiggly lines. Kentucky is my favorite state to ride !

Headscratch  I thought I responded to this.  Are there 2 threads?

Narda tunnel to the east and 89 to the west.  You really can't go wrong with any small, black line on a map in the Daniel Boone NF.

Dad, have you made your trip yet? If not, there are some great roads down here!  Pick up a Delorme KY atlas and bring two highlighters: One to mark where you want to go and one where you've been.  I live in Berea, 45 minutes west of the Bridge and will gladly scan my maps to share and would be glad to be a guide on the weekends.

Check out some of Kevin's maps at

Wildcatriders is a sportbike forum, but there are several of us that lean more toward the sport-touring side... Kevin being one of them.

I'd LOVE to have one of those Gazetteer's - I just wish they weren't so dang big - can't fit in a tankbag or tailbag  Crazy

I may have to pick one up anyway though and just use it to plan at the house.

He means the computer program, Streets and Trips.  Sort of like a Delorme Atlas for the entire country.

Do search on Nada Tunnel east of Stanton and just north of Hwy 15. That will take you to Sky Bridge, one of my favorites as a kid. 89 south of Irvine is pretty lightly traveled because there's a one lane 15 ton bridge near the south end. No road signs and no center lines! You'll wonder if your still on a State Route.
All kinds of choices up in Lee Co.  Been 20 years since I rode that area though.

                                                                                                  Bobcat
                                                                                                  Tenn.

PS: Take your shades off before you enter Nada Tunnel.

It's hard to find a bad road in that area. If you go much further south you start running into possible paving problems from over weight coal trucks. Just keep you eyes open for chewed up areas on the insides of the turns to spot where the trucks hang out.

Here is one of my favorite loops from Berea to Natural Bridge.
Google Map from Berea  KY21 to Bighill US421 to Fall Rock KY11 to Natural Bridge and Stanton KY213 to Pitts KY52 to Irvine KY499 to Wisemantown KY594 back to Bighill

As you can see from the graph, some great elevation changes.

Why yes, yes I am Bigsmile The original plan was to haul the bike down and set up base camp at Natural Bridge State Park. There was going to be 4 of us to share the diesel costs (cheaper than the cost of gas for 4 bikes and save some tire wear from slabbing) but now 2 guys might not make it Sad However myself an Phil on his Sprint St still have the time off from work and are havin a meeting with the other 2 on friday or Mon. to see whats up.
