Yeah, slap on some headers and pipes and you can wake the neighbors up every morning like I did from 1974 - 1977  with my '66 Bigsmile

My old sandrail had an 1835cc with headers and a stinger pipe.  You could wake the dead with that thing!  Bigsmile

Some of these bikes are getting old.  Look like the frame off a Ducati, the tank off a Yamaha sportbike, The headlight off a Suzuki, the motor out of a KTM, the mirros look nice, but they should have integrated the turn signals.

At least they could have done something unique.  Maybe a 500cc turbocharged, direct injected V4.... how cool would that be!

I was thinking it looked more like a Moto Morini with different exhausts.

Yes, it's a chopped image of a Corsaro. The folks at Morini should probably take it as a sort of compliment.  Wink

Whattayamean two months ago and sheesh?

Sheesh you asshat.  The link I posted was from a topspeed.com with a picture of a KTM/VW joint project not a link to autoweek.com that reported a one liner from Ferdinand Piech about wanting to buy a small, valuable motorcycle manufacturer as in the thread you so cleverly pointed out.  Get your story straight.

What is it with people that just love to jump in and be repost police?

Recently VW has had some quality issues but my 1998 Jetta TDI has 229K on the clock and still kicking.  Bigok

Recently?

I bought my first VW Golf in 1989.  A nice Wolfsburg edition model.  Back then, I was really into VW's and loved the feel of Teutonic cars.  It was the worst POS we ever owned.  I have since known several people personally, friends and co-workers, who have bought new VW's as recently as 2007 and all of them have had all kinds of problems with them.  Transmissions exploding.  Bottom end failures.  Electrical gremlins.  Myserious dying engines.  And so on.  Last I read VW was at the bottom of the quality ratings.

Sorry VW lovers.  VW designs great cars.  But they just can't build them right.

Rebadged Brutale?  Headscratch

I also thought that it looks to much like another bike I had recently seen.
I don't think it was a brutale but it is close.

Second after having worked through some really crappy designs, when it comes to maintenace and repair, I'll never have VW car.
So its very doubtful I would consider a VW.

Besides don't we have enough quirky bikes to choose from (or not choose at all)?

I've had nothing but VW's (and more recently Audis) for over 25 years.   I've had very good luck with them.   They're obviously not completely problem free, or I wouldn't be able to make a living producing scan tools for them, but in that those 25 years, I've never once been towed.    How many of you can say that for whatever cars you drive?   Also, if they're really that awful, how come they're the 4th biggest car manufacturer on the planet?    Only GM, Ford, and Toyota make more per year cars than the Volkswagen Group.

Now That's the VW bike I've envisioned.   Thumbsup

Nothing like the gently rythmic washing machine sound of the old flat four.  Bigok

I lost all respect for VW when the stopped making cars (and busses) that I could comfortably fit in.  The new beetle was the last straw for me.  They could have called it anything else they wanted, but to call it the beetle was sacrilege.

As for a Beetle-like motorcycle goes, I think the KLR has it down.  Simple, slow, reliable, and lovable in a homely-yet-cute sort of way.

Who in the heck buys those ugly lookin' things?

B-King? King of what, most ugly?  Thumbsdown

I'm sorry, all, but a few squids wreck their sportbike, can't afford new plastic and then start callin' their bikes "naked" or "fighters" or some such nonsense? Headscratch

That's ALMOST as bad as our young guys walking around in clown outfits.  Crazy

Holy moly!
