Not on Wednesday.
It was a good ride on some good roads with a disappointing visit to Cycle Gear.
Frank picked up a tank bag for his daughter cheap enough but I will report on the Bilt gear as follows,
You do in fact get what you pay for.
Whoever asked me about the gloves,
Inexpensive yes but not a whole lot of comfort for a long trip. The seams are abundant.
The Storm Boots originally $100.00 on promotion for 50.00 on sale for 40.00 were just not built to what I would call American Specs. The workmanship is passable the materials are adequate but the construction is all wrong as far as the shape of a foot is concerned.
I wear a size 11/12.
I tried on the 12 the last time I was there and couldn't fit it over my ankle. I figured a 13 would be alright so I ordered a pair. They came in on Monday so off we went. They JUST fit over my ankles well enough but the shape is all wrong. The arch seemed to be to close to the heel. Just plain uncomfortable.
I will be ordering the Tourmasters from New Enough tonight.

There are only lunch pics. In the burger porn thread of course. I would mount the camera on my bars but I would most certainly crash trying to snap a pic.

I took a look at the Bilt stuff the other day. Pretty cheezy . They are pushing it big time. It's everywhere in the store. They used to carry Dainese and FirstGear. Cutting back on the higher end gear I guess to sell a bunch of the cheap crap. I did see Moto Market is now carrying the Klim line. That's worth the trip to check out.

Some of it may be. I would hope you would make your own judgment. I will recommend not buying anything you have not physically examined though.

Either that or your body is freakishly proportioned. Seriously though, for some of the prices they are advertising, the quality cant be that good. I was skeptical from the beginning.

Here's the weird thing about the boots: I saw the tag on the box: it said US 13, Euro 46 (and I think UK 9). Which is really a US 11.5. I tried to put them on (I take a 13 fat) and I couldn't even slip them on. I did however pick up some waterproof insulated gloves which came in handy tonight.
366 miles later....

As scottzilla likes to say: do any of us have a job?
Besides, I had to hit Twisted Throttle for a sticker and Harbor Freight for some nitrile gloves
