Well, I vote for Eastern Oregon.  With that said, Putting my bike back together is taking a lot longer than I hoped.  I may submit and just take the bike into a shop and let them finish it up.....assuming I can get it there.

Hard to beat Baker City, though I'm still planning on visiting Northern Idaho with or without the rest of you this summer ;-)

Since we've already had one in Baker City, I voted John Day. Variety is good.

Some pretty damn fine loops can be had from the area, including some dual-sport/offroad stuff, though that's not my thing.

Plenty of places to stay, including camping at the local fairgrounds, and a reasonably diverse selection of restaurants and bars. You can walk virtually anywhere in town.

Only downside I can think of right now is that the OSP is also located in town.
Just thought of another, tweekers. But then they're just about everywhere, unfortunately.

Popular place during the travel/riding season, so timing a meet there so as NOT to coincide with some other gathering should be considered.

While it's still up for vote, I'm guessing that the date will be some time in September. Something to think about when making your choice (temperatures, weather, school, bike repair  Wink )

Baker City is great, for sure, but a little removed from some of the best roads in NE Oregon.

I, too, am planning on doing a run up to northern Idaho, probably in conjunction with my annual loop through Missoula-Grangeville from Boise (not sure which direction yet, probably counterclockwise).

I voted southern Oregon but eastern Oregon would be cool too.  So would Idaho, though that might be tough for a majority of attendees.  I like the idea of a brewery place nearby!  and fish n chips. Inlove

Maybe someday we'll have to break this down into regional regionals...  you know, southern region of region 1, northern region, eastern, etc...   Cool

Somehow Central California coast snuck in there.

Good idea--so I voted for it.   Thumbsup

Long way for us Seattleites, but a beautiful part of the world and I haven't been down there in a while.

My personal second choice would be Ashland.  ejh and I rode Oregon 66 from Klamath Falls to Ashland last Tuesday.  We had just finished a cold relatively dull ride from Bend to K-Falls and we attacked 66 like locusts hitting a banquet.  That's some tasty pavement.   Bigok

Maybe we *do* need to split the WCRM.5s in two. A PNW getaway versus a CA getaway.

Main meet still in Fortuna in May, of course...

Not me! Bigsmile I love it up there and have lots of family in OR and WA. For So Caler's you'd be amazed how far north you can get if you put in one mega day on I-5/97 or 395 north. With gas what it is lately I may make this my "long tour" for the year.

I'm into whatever. Chris is right, one day just has to be dedicated to "getting there" lotsa miles with a bit of slabbing if necessary...

My Dad and I did a trip last year and part of our route took us down the 395 through John Day, Long Creek, etc. I can't recommend staying in Long Creek, as there is literally NOTHING there. John Day looked more promising, but again, I'm not really that familiar with the area and how entertaining the roads are.

395 just North of John Day and Long Creek was pretty entertaining, with some great sweepers and twisties. I hope there are some good twisties in the area that would do for a good day loop. Any locals with knowledge please post up...

Wherever the meet is, I'll be there.

I voted for the Northern, CA Region once again but agree that Chester itself should not be the meet spot.  What about Orville?   There are still many great roads to encounter there and I would love to see that area again with better weather conditions.

Oregon seems attractive as well but I'm not excited about slabbing to and from the area.

I'd love to do Idaho but seeing as this is a three/four day trip that will be a stretch for me.

Lol  High local demand keeps the prices reasonable. Probably even better than Susanville.
