I have planned 305/26/45/Marengo Dr.  Should be passing the Pine Grove Mills area around 10am and joining 453 at 550 shortly thereafter (we won't be passing the 26/453 junction exactly).*

*Routing subject to change

Well, if you see a silver FJR sitting at 45 and Marengo and that rider tags on to the end of the line, that'll be me.

Assuming you don't mind...  Fer chrissakes don't wait, though.

Excellent.  I will have a look at my Mapsource @home to double-check the timing.

Here's a suggestion for more play time in the mountains around Altoona/Tyrone:

Thanks for making me aware of those roads.  I will take a look at that southern dip to Altoona.  Thumbsup

Kettle Rd has a fun section on the Altoona end, but it's kinda short. The others are nice enough as roads in the area go. Worth checking out if you have a little extra time to do the southern extension.

The route is set.  The hotel reservations are made.  I'll be installing a new front tire over the next week.   I found out my track leathers will fit in my luggage.

I'm about set.

I'll be on the road Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday with a planned 900 miles + whatever miles I rack up on Mid-Ohio during Monday's track day.   Chili

I CAN'T WAIT!

How much stuff are you going to have to unbolt and tape up in the paddock?

None. KTM is supplying the bikes.

FWIW, I ride my bike to track days and only remove my topcase and tape up the lights/reflectors and I'm good to go. I can be ready for tech in about 15 minutes.

Yep.  The KTM demo truck will be there with Super Dukes, SMRs, and RC8s to use all day.  Now that's how you test ride a sport bike.   Bigsmile

I'm planning to camp, but not if the overnight temps are going below freezing!  I'm hoping the weather forecast is as accurate as I'd expect it to be this far out...

Are you going to hang out in the Days Inn parking lot with us?  You were talking about fish jerky at the Tech Day.  Sam's Club had some really nice looking Stealhead trout last time I was there, but I won't bother if you aren't going to be around to try it.

-------------

Jerky recipes are being considered.  Since the headcount for Saturday night at Denny's is up to a possible 50 (not even counting the people that are going to be at Day's Inn but not going to dinner at Denny's), I'm figuring on 35 of us snacking on my jerky back at the parking lot, at an average of 3.25 oz. each (a small commercial bag quantity) = 113 oz. or 7 lbs. of jerky (from about 13 lbs. of fresh meat).

Rootbeer Peppercorn was a hit at the Tech Day so I'll definitely make up a triple batch of that.  I'm thinking barbecue, teriyaki and probably something really hot as well.

I also have a 7 1/3 lb. (bone-in) ham.  Ham is one of the few cuts of pork that can be made into jerky since it's already smoked and salt-cured.  I figure I'll make 3 lbs. as honey mustard style and another 3 lbs. as bbq.
If anyone has any special requests, lemme know.  I'm looking forward to sharing it with you guys. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Yes/highfive.gif

I just sent Denny an email letting him know how things are shaping up. My gut feel is that numbers will be down this year, even if the weather is nice. The Pittsburgh area web forums that produced a lot of day riders in years past are pretty slow this year. So my wild ass guess, assuming dry and cool weather is that lunch will on the order of 75 bikes, give or take 25. I warned him that about 25-30 people will probably show up for dinner on Saturday night circa 6:30 - 7:30.

I also reminded him about the request for a sandwich special that can be sold/taken outside to let people mingle in the parking lot.

How the Burger Run turns out is as much a surprise to me as it is to everyone. It just sort of happens...

Hey Marcster - I probably won't hang out in the parking lot.  Will be at Denny's on Sunday though.  Still, don't make fish jerky just for me...I was mostly surprised (and mayble a little scared!) that it could be made.

OK, thanks for letting me know.  Don't be scared -- they sell salmon jerky at Cabellas, so it's fairly common.

 Embarassment

I'm sure there are others who will put on more miles than me this weekend.  ~300+ per day is my target.

But, I doubt anyone will be able to claim they did 150MPH+ on the back stretch of Mid-Ohio during the burger run weekend.   Beerchug
